Nestled at the base of the Berkshire Downs in the North Wessex Downs, Blewbury is a charming village and civil parish situated just 4 miles south of Didcot, 14 miles south of Oxford, and 50 miles west of London. Formerly a part of Berkshire, it became part of Oxfordshire following boundary changes in 1974. According to the 2011 Census, Blewbury is home to a population of 1,581 residents. The area is known for its natural springs that emerge at the foot of the downs, with some of them supplying water to the historic Watercress Beds, once a hub for watercress cultivation. These springs, along with others, flow into the Mill Brook, which eventually joins the river Thames at Wallingford. Additionally, the village is traversed by the A417 road, running below the escarpment and through the southern part of Blewbury. Locals affectionately refer to themselves as Blewbarians, adding a touch of community spirit to this picturesque English countryside destination.
